Angel Food is a volunteer program that supplies high quality food at wholesale pricing.
This is a video of what goes on at the Angelfood Distribution that happens once a month at Grace Hudson. Angelfood is a national program that distributes food to anyone who wants it at wholesale food prices and is run by volunteers.
Grace Hudson is the regional distribution site for all of New England, and there are presently about 10 organizations who meet the truck in the Grace parking lot to offload the food at 5 AM. Then food is distributed to over 200 families who come in to pick up their food. For more info on how you can get Angelfood or participate as a volunteer, go to the Grace Hudson site.
Participating is easy. Orders and distribution are handled by Grace Baptist on River Road in Hudson. Orders are taken during the first part of each month and then later in the same month, the food is delivered to Grace where it is met by our group of volunteers who will be waiting to meet you as you pick up your order.
Angel Food is provided in a quantity that can fit into a medium-sized box at $30 per unit. Each month’s menu, consisting of both fresh and frozen items, is different from that of the previous month and has an average retail value of approximately $70-$80, based on local comparison-shopping. Generally, one unit of food assists in feeding a family of four for about one week or a single individual for almost a month.
